This two day Core (Level 1) Emergency Ultrasound course based in Cambridge is aimed at doctors working in acute care setting. The training addresses the knowledge and practical skills recommended by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine necessary to achieve Level 1 competency in the four core clinical applications of Emergency Ultrasound and is one of our popular emergency training courses .

  • The course is ideal for Emergency Physicians, Acute Physicians and Critical Care Physicians.
  • This practical course is suitable for those new to the clinical applications of focused ultrasound as well as those with prior experience of ultrasound.

  • 09.30 – 09.45: Introduction to Focused Ultrasound
  • 09.45 – 10.15: Physics and Instrumentation
  • 10.15 – 10.30: Aortic Scanning
  • 10.30 – 10.45: BREAK
  • 10.45 – 11.00: IVC and Shock
  • 11.00 – 11.15: e-FAST
  • 11.15 – 11.30: Central Venous Access
  • 11.30 – 11.50: Chest
  • 11.50 – 12.30: BREAK
  • 12.30 – 13.00: Echo in Peri-arrest and Life Support
  • 13.00 – 13.20: Questions session

Day two – Practical

  • 09.00 – 09.30: Practical Workshop 1 – Instrumentation and Optimising the Image
  • 09.30 – 10.50: Practical Workshop 2 – FAST and Echo
  • 10.50 – 11.10: BREAK
  • 11.10 – 12.40: Practical Workshop 3 – Aorta and Echo
  • 12.40 – 13.10: BREAK
  • 13.10 – 14.40: Practical Workshop 4 – Chest, IVC and Central line
  • 14.40 – 15.00: Finish, Summary and Credentialing
